About Us

Women Concerns and Ideas (WCI) is a nonprofit, women-led community-based organization headquartered in Village One, Zone 3, Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, Kululu Sub-county, Yumbe District, Uganda. Our operations are primarily based in Bidibidi Zone 3.

WCI empowers women, youth, and adolescents through raising awareness on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), gender-based violence (GBV), and mindset change. We equip our target groups with accurate information to make informed life choices, access quality SRHR services, and develop life skills for personal and community growth.

Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

We teach women, girls, and youth about their bodies, health, and rights. We help them understand how to protect themselves from early pregnancy, HIV, and other infections. We also link them to health centers where they can get good services like family planning and counseling.

Environmental Protection and Waste Management

We teach people how to keep the environment clean and safe. We organize tree planting, build energy-saving stoves, and promote waste recycling in homes and schools to protect the land for farming and clean air.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention

We create awareness in the community about stopping violence against women and girls. We teach people to speak out against abuse and support survivors. We work with leaders, police, and health workers to help those who are affected.
